Let's start organizing the new year event for 2016. Here's the thread from 2015:

First, we need a list of candidate locations for hosting the event. Post here 1 or 2 places where you'd like the event to be hosted. (And don't submit places without agreement from those who manage it.)

I'll enter:

Later we will start a poll on the location, and you can't vote for locations you submitted - manager of location doesn't matter.

I'm still up for designing an epic fireworks show in Aahrus or co-operating with someone else in another region as part of a dual bid (if we're allowed those)

I'm not sure what you mean by dual bid? But whereever the event is I can help with supplying stuff like gunpower and dyes and such.

Hmm USF mansion that would mean we'd have New Year in creative. You could submit it, but I think it would be more cool to have it in the main survival world where resources aren't infinite.

Also Tuto you can only submit locations now, not vote yet, the voting will be in the voting center later when we have all submissions, and voting for your own submissions won't be allowed

I don't really want to host the entire thing in Aahrus (not really enough room) so if we could have just the fireworks there and the events somewhere else, was my idea of a dual bid

Either way I'll probably offer to do a fireworks show no matter where it's hosted depending on how much time I have.

One question I have is, if we're hosting it in creative, would I be allowed to spawn the fireworks in with a plugin rather using a complicated system of dispensers and redstone?

Yqt I think it should be fine, but so far I've mostly imagined it to be like the other years in the overworld, so it's a bit hard for me to even relate to at this point. But if people want it like that I guess yes. Dual bid should be fine.

Public service blannouncement: Everyone may now vote in Blacraft Voting Center for the location of the 2016 New Year event! The poll closes on November 7.
The voting center is the tallest building in the old part of Spawntown, with a red star on top. The portal around 0,0 in the Nether, where the ice roads meet, leads to the top floor of the voting center. The multiple choice poll is on the third floor, where you can vote.

I'm busy with irl stuff atm, anyone here who wants to receive a good amount of gunpowder and other resources for fireworks, and craft the fireworks and a launching machine at the New Year site? I will suggest making some varied rockets but still some that can stack a bit, so there might be some stacks with maybe 8 rockets or something like that (but also a few unique ones maybe, if they're good). I can also give you dispensers and stuff for that.

Or if Kal wants it he can receive it and build it, since it's at his location.

Tomorrow evening (like ~20 UTC) I might have time to come online and give some materials, but I don't know for sure atm.

if someone else would like to plan the fireworks they can do that

i have a spot for where it should go unless anyone has any objections and thinks it could be placed better

also i have a request: can you spawn in/check horse speeds or something numerically because i don't really want to test them by running them around a bunch and i need 5 equal horses for the sake of fair competition.
