I have determined through research that Random Block Reappearance Syndrome is caused by Blacraft's no-cheat plugin(s).

kol what research, did you pee on the server.

but i think it would be unreasonable to say rbs is caused by nocheat plugins -- it could beother plugins, or not be involved with plugins at all.

I'm getting the same kind of RBS you had mentioned while digging out the main passageway for a new branch/strip mine. It's annoying......

the rbs is caused because the nocheat plugin(s) check if the block you have mined is adjacent to one already exposed, or if you are mining multiple blocks at once.

when it comes back from lag it sees you mining all the blocks at once, and for smjjames, them also not being adjacent to exposed blocks, which it then makes reappear.

Also, Bla, try creating a pillar (preferrably at 20+ blocks up) and then mine your way down and see if you DON'T fall off. That rbs glitch pushes you to the side unless you're holding shift, and even then, shift is the only thing keeping you from falling off.

The chest protection plugin corrupts chunks.

When you destroy a chest that is registered to someone the chunk becomes corrupted.

This happened to my basement, which is why I got my items duplicated after I moved them out. Today, Jace locked a chest in the new rail route 1 tunnel and I didn't want the chest there (in case it was still there when I needed to put the rails down). Now the Desertopia station is corrupted.

Kipz seems to claim that most of Desertopia is corrupted in a similar fashion.

This is getting stupid.

Edit: Considering that the chunks are corrupted, there is a possibility that the tracks may be reverted as well. Should I keep track of how much iron and gold was used in the construction of the line up to x=-1250 (where the tunnel was reverted last time) so I can get it back?

eh i only know that the quarry, basin near the quarry, collective storage, area near the station, is corrupted. (although that does make up around 50% of desertopia :P)

anyways i'll be moving the collective to forssa or welptopia soon so as fix that problem

Agreed, and do we need to mention the rbs issues (or make a video of it???)? Because that is annoying and before 1.4, when mining or otherwise removing blocks, I never got this rbs where the block would almost constantly blink for a second before dissapearing again.

And no this is not lag and it happens to everybody.

Kipz, did you private protect any chests in the library area and then remove them? Maybe that's how it happened.

http://dev.bukkit.org/server-mods/ultralogger/
there are alternatives i.e.
http://dev.bukkit.org/server-mods/hawkeye/
http://dev.bukkit.org/server-mods/bigbrother/

I think you should look at the pages more carefully, the bigbrother one hasn't been updated in over a year and the fork link doesn't seem to work right now. The hawkeye one hasn't been updated since march.

nothing's been added that would concern those areas other than the command block, which is OPs only...

Since this seems to be the RBS thread, im saying:
About this time today it was really laggy, me kip and smjjames were splunking. Like every 10 seconds a 4 second pause, but its not always that bad. Not sure if that had to do with anything. Just keeping a record.

Splunking sidenote: [19:24] <bong_> is it unlegit if im being pushed towards the lava by water power, and then a mob shoots me again and again until i fall in??
