Let's start organizing the new year event for 2017. Here's the thread from 2016:

First, we need a list of candidate locations for hosting the event. Post here 1 or 2 places where you'd like the event to be hosted. (And don't submit places without agreement from those who manage it.)

I'll enter:

Kaktolake, Kaktoland

Later we will start a poll on the location, and you can't vote for locations you submitted - manager of location doesn't matter.

I have an eff5 pick with mending so there's no need for you to donate a pick :)

However I would like the obsidian for the portal (it was a 6x5 ring of obsidian so 18 obsidian because empty corners)

And the rails I built too; 528 rail blocks total (it was from laplaya portal to that portal) so just 8 stacks should be fine.

It was the entire nether that was rolled back. It would take a lot of time to restore that, and if it's just a 1 block wide tunnel in netherrack, I think it would be faster for you to make it again. How about I give you an efficiency 5 pick to use temporarily to dig the tunnel (to be destroyed afterwards) and refund the rails (it had rails right?)?

They seem a bit expensive, requiring lingering potions which requires fighting the ender dragon, so to keep the BG more economical maybe we should ban it, but I'm not sure. What do people think?

These are some very quick thoughts as I have to go soon.
I agree with Fiah's borders, these also seem more natural, following a cliff.
I'm also not so happy with the border following the road, and with the docking extension the borders would look a bit strange. If Canyonlands aren't important to you, I'll suggest these borders to consider, giving more land in the south instead that includes the entire mesa.

An option for rail route 3, if Darvince and Tuto are interested. Would probably wait with the extension to Republic of Conzy, maybe the Jorsterton rail would do better going in that direction instead. The station locations are just ideas.

Extended the abandoned road project to Smokey's Perimeter a bit to near Desertopia's border.



Also the southern border of Desertopia has this road splitting into two parts, like a couple of spread legs, asking for something to be inserted. I considered this sculpture and sign for Konisshi to be put near the magenta area on the map above, if Komrage wants? If you want to pick and donate materials for it, I can build it. Suggesting the text in glowstone.

The secret was that a new world is available through a portal in Epicland. The new world is Nostalgia which is stitched together from a collection of old backups so that many central locations in the regular world appear in their original state. It is a big amount of work to stitch together so it doesn't have locations from after 2012 and some areas don't have their corresponding parts in the regular world anymore. But maybe those places, including Lavaank and the mountains south of Revolute De Snow, add a bit to the nostalgia.

The world is now shown on Dynmap and the portals connecting it to the Overworld. It is running in adventure mode in order to preserve it.

Congrats to Matty who was the first to find Nostalgia.

Related to the recent 5 year anniversary of Blacraft, here is a small adventure. Go to Spawntown Library and read this book. After reading it, you should be able to guess what to do.

In at least maybe 20 hours or so, the stuff may be revealed to the public.

After reading the book, please put it back in the chest so others can read it.

Note to self: Chesthorse disappeared after going from nether to Kaktolake Portal with an inv full of sandstone. Logged in and out and went through the portal a couple of times to look for it, but no signs. Should check back if it appears later.

Hmm. Those islands really are small. I think it's perfectly fine you name and manage them, I just think they seem too small to make an entire region for. They're close to Matolony, so maybe they could become a part of Matolony but a municipality governed by you and with the names you'd like for the islands.

But anyway, I could vote yes if you wish to start the poll.

It's not that you can't have the land, it's just to make regions have more similar sizes.

For example, one possibility could be to claim the southern part here, and then maybe make something like the red area a new region later when you feel like developing that area.

I've tried to get an idea of how big the region is. I think it looks a bit big, any of the areas that could be left out maybe (and maybe become another region later)?
Even though I know some of the old regions are bigger, I think it'd be a good idea to have future regions not vary hugely in size, generally 100,000 to 400,000 sq. m.

Though I think it's good Akënakii's borders have been taken into account in the proposal

If you're in lava, it can't form obsidian because it's a solid block and you're occupying the block where it would form, I suppose. But depending on your armor you should have had enough time to swim up into the water fully, if that had happened the fire would've been extinguished and you'd take no more dmg from lava, so I suppose that didn't happen.
So I suppose you placed the water, and was half inside water and lava, but died before getting up fully into the water from the lava damage. How did the lag affect this situation?

I guess it should be ok, but if you don't need all of the forest, maybe it'd be better to not claim it all, so there's some left for Trenchland.

Also Blotz, you don't need to claim a desert to gather sand from it. You could also set up a portal in a far away desert and gather sand there with donkey and enderchest. Ofc it's easier to do closer to your base but it also leaves an ugly environment, but it's your choice.

I'm busy with irl stuff atm, anyone here who wants to receive a good amount of gunpowder and other resources for fireworks, and craft the fireworks and a launching machine at the New Year site? I will suggest making some varied rockets but still some that can stack a bit, so there might be some stacks with maybe 8 rockets or something like that (but also a few unique ones maybe, if they're good). I can also give you dispensers and stuff for that.

Or if Kal wants it he can receive it and build it, since it's at his location.

Tomorrow evening (like ~20 UTC) I might have time to come online and give some materials, but I don't know for sure atm.

I and vh have agreed not to 'abuse' that admins don't get afk kicked since admins aren't supposed to have that privilige, but I just don't know how to disable it. But it's not a privilige we use (Idk about Yqt but he hasn't been so active in the world for some months until recently I think).

You should spawn at the intro center. It should explain some of the things and rules on the server. If we can find sometime to meet on the server, I or maybe one of the other admins/players can also help you find a place to settle or show you around.
Also just so you know, this is not a pvp server, pvp is only allowed when players agree or when we plan battles in some of our battle regions.
