The rules don't forbid that, I just hadn't set a price, setting a reasonable price for it other than 7 emeralds is hard, I don't have much of an idea of how much it's worth to you or even to myself. I just personally prefer to keep the UBSR and outside economy relatively separated because I think that if you want the benefits of cooperating with UBSR members, you should become an UBSR member and join us in spreading communism throughout Blacraft.

But it is against UBSR rules for those who aren't a member of UBSR. They aren't allowed to take from UBSR public storages.

Yes, it's trapped.

It now offers the best possible paper trade - 1 emerald for 24 paper now. Very nice. Still gathering emeralds, but Spawntown's sugar cane stockpile is almost worn completely down now.

Edit: Oh, it just changed the book trade, now offering Bane of Arthropods I. At least our stockpile of 91 Silk Touch I books should last a while. Kol.

The books are worth 637 emeralds. I also saved 450 emeralds from paper trading with it besides that that's not in the collective storage. I plan to use it to get other villagers with good trades.

You may want to choose a different name for the public storages to avoid confusion with the UBSR public storages.

Spawntown got a pretty good paper trader today. It has paper in its 8th slot and I've traded I think 8 inventories or so of paper with it now. At first it took 34 paper for an emerald, now 26 paper.

Luckily, it also does another nice trade: Enchanting books with silk touch 1, for 7 emeralds. So I decided to enchant 58 books with silk touch 1. I'll be giving them out for free to UBSR members, so you can just ask if you need them.

Preparing the sugar farms below the Blue Ink Factory to place another ~1000 sugar canes. If anyone has lily pads or areas in their regions where they would be ok with me gathering them feel free to donate or something. Everyone can use the sugar farms. If sugar cane is put into the chests with the hoppers, the minecarts move it to a much bigger section of sugar cane chests in Spawntown's public storage. About 220 lily pads needed.

Copy from Ubox Blacraft thread about the New Year location poll:

Extend the voting, and disable votes for all the ones except the ones which tied. I have asked Yqt to make the votes public and reset all except the two that got the most votes, which we think are Desetopia and Oasis City.
Everyone will have one more week to vote for either Desertopia or Oasis City (if those were the ones that got 2 votes), so the one with the most votes by UTC midnight 23. November 2013 will be the one to host the New Year event.

Edit, poll ended, Oasis City, Kaeshar will host the Blacraft New Year 2014 event with 3 votes.

No, there was a corrupted chunk there, which I deleted and replaced by a copy from a backup, so it's not glitchy. It's glitchy on the map for the same reason that the areas near Quontia are - moved in editor but not visited in-game.

« on: 2013 11 08, 18:10:37 »
Ok I think I already gave a response to both of your arguments (which seem to be the same), that it isn't flexible. My intention with the poll was simply to make the time the default time, so that we will not have to make a poll every year to celebrate it at that time. Instead, if Yqt is on vacation, we could then make a poll that year to move the celebration a day or whatever, that would be no problem, and simpler than making a poll every year about when it should be. I guess the poll was just badly worded, anyway, if I put up a new poll with this intention, would you vote for it?

As for the other point that it's "needless to come up with rules and regulations", that's like saying it's needless to even define the date we should celebrate it. The question is just whether we should let that simple rule - when we celebrate New Year - cover this time only or simply be the default rule where we can just change the rule if we ever need to.

Now smjjames' comment on when it should be celebrated, ok I understand that you prefer it to be at that time, but consider that many people (or at least I) are busy on the New Year day because they celebrate it with their family - luckily for me UTC is an hour off from midnight so I can get to do and see some fireworks before Blacraft, but it's a bit of an interruption in the party. Additionally, I will no longer live at my parents when we celebrate New Year, so I would have to bring my computer over to come on Blacraft, not that it's impossible. At least for me, it would be much easier if we celebrated it on December 30. Then there's no interference and we have two separate days to celebrate New Year, one with the Blacraft community and one with IRL people. Did that change anyone's opinion?

575
Blacraft General / Re: Blacraft New Year 2014
« on: 2013 11 05, 10:43:51 »
The poll simply says that the event will be defined at that time so that we won't have to make the same poll every year. Now we can just make a new poll if we want to change it, for example if Yqt is on vacation we could set a poll for the event to be at another day for a single year, and this poll would apply for the other years. I don't see how that is silly, it seems pretty simple to me.

So the candidates we have are

Spawntown, Kaktoland
Capital, Aahrus
Vrus, Aahrus
Oasis City, Kaeshar
Revolt City, Revolute De Snow
Desertopia, Desertopia
The Nether

I uhh will make a poll in the Blacraft Voting Center soon I guess. Voting for places you manage will not be allowed.

Also I suggest that we move the Blacraft New Year celebration to the UTC midnight between December 30 and 31, so that it will not interfere with people's IRL New Year celebrations, even though I know it sounds a bit uncool to celebrate it the day before, but then again, New Year actually happens at different moments for all of us because of the time zones in the first place, so I assume it shouldn't make too much of a difference.

But do you have Fraps/recording program like that capable of recording in that quality and are you capable of recording in 1920x1080 resolution? And with your internet, would you upload the resulting file that would definitely end up being several GB?

585
Blacraft General / Re: Blacraft New Year 2014
« on: 2013 10 27, 18:29:22 »
Because I'm moving in November I'm not sure how I'm going to record the Blacraft New Year if I celebrate it at my parents. I would have to transport my monitor if I should record it in 1920x1080 pixel resolution, which I'm not very happy with doing. The resolution on my laptop is 1366x768.

The question is whether people want to celebrate it at another time, or if they want it recorded in lower quality, or what they expect.

The first comment says that the plugin doesn't work in 1.6. But if I enabled such a plugin, any player that is currently outside the world would fall into the void and die if they logged on.

Blacraft General / Re: Blacraft New Year 2014

I don't think the Nether is a good place for the fireworks, I think it looks pretty ugly and the ghasts would be annoying in the large open space that we would need, block damage or not. An urban environment seems like the best stage for a New Year party I think.

I'll close the option to submit potential areas for New Year on November 1st, then I will let people vote, and I think I'll disable voting for your own regions, because there are so many candidates now. I guess the voting center could be used for the poll.

Lag shouldn't depend on RAM amount, only on RAM type, CPU, etc. If you run out of RAM the server will simply crash.

New map up with shows where the world has been cropped. The parts rendered in the old colors were cropped. The flickery areas were moved and will probably have to be loaded in-game before they'll show up properly. There's also evidence of a chunk error in a desert in the northwest that I plan to fix tomorrow I guess or something.

Blacraft General / Re: World Editing
« on: 2013 10 25, 18:25:20 »
I have cropped the world mostly according to the plan (I accidentally deleted slightly more land than the plan showed south of Revolutea, sorry Fiah, tell me if you need it MCEdited back in when I upload a map), edited the biomes slightly and changed the seed.

Currently I have removed everybody else from the whitelist, because I don't plan to put on a temporary map and I'm currently uploading the cropped world, and I don't want to risk people logging on and loading terrain again with 1.6.4. I'll put the old whitelist back when the server is running Bukkit 1.7, which still seems to be in development.

http://dl.bukkit.org/downloads/craftbukkit/

You can mess on the Multiplay server while waiting.

Edit: Done uploading cropped world, verified the new seed is working, also used the structure saver once more to ensure MCEdit or the biome painter shouldn't cause anything to be lost.
Now we're just waiting for Bukkit 1.7.

Blacraft General / Re: Multiplay or Perfection Servers?

The amount of mess it would be would be the same that it was to move from Multiplay to this one. Downloading everything, uploading and setting it all up again.

594
Blacraft General / Re: World Editing
« on: 2013 10 25, 14:04:59 »
The server is down and I don't recommend playing on it until I get the new map up and ready. I recommend playing on the Multiplay server until then.

595
Blacraft General / Re: World Editing
« on: 2013 10 25, 13:33:45 »
I ran CraftBukkit's structure saver, so all structures in all worlds should be saved now whether they were visited or not. I just made a backup that I'll download now to work on, so if people play on the server, progress will not be saved to the world. (But don't go griefing stuff etc. before I write specifically that normal playing rules no longer apply.)

Idk how long the transition will take, but I guess it would be too big a mess to set up a temporary map, if you want to have temporary fun, I'll recommend playing on our temporary 1.7 snapshot world on Multiplay, that I'll consider changing to proper 1.7.

Blacraft General / Re: World Editing
« on: 2013 10 25, 04:40:47 »
It doesn't matter, because if we explored the area it would be cropped anyway according to the plan. No point in exploring something we delete anyway.

Everything outside the red line will be cropped, and the orange line was just a quick fix I made, the plan is to crop what is outside of it, so here is the same plan. Cyan will be moved.

Blacraft General / Re: Multiplay or Perfection Servers?
« on: 2013 10 25, 04:37:13 »
We haven't tried any servers in US, but Darvince has complained a bit about it, even though many US and Canada players don't experience the lag that he has complained about, making me think it's unlikely that it'll make much of a difference, in any case the distance between Arizona and Germany is about 5800 km, a distance that it would take light 0.02 seconds to travel, with the occasional chest lag lasting for seconds and things like that I doubt that is the important thing here. The same argument could be used to say it really doesn't matter if I host it in USA or Europe the other way around. It probably doesn't matter much. It would be a bit of a mess to move server again though unless we upgrade if the location isn't important.

Why do you want it in US smjjames?

Blacraft General / Multiplay or Perfection Servers?
« on: 2013 10 24, 14:04:59 »
Vote for whether you think we should continue to host Blacraft on Perfection Servers or Multiplay.

Some current stats on Multiplay:

Cost: 7.75 £/month (69 DKK)
Slots: 8 players
Memory: 600 MB

Current stats on Perfection Servers:

Cost: 11.97 USD/month (66 DKK)
Slots: 12 players
Memory: 1024 MB

"Features: 1 GB Dedicated RAM, Full FTP Access, RAMDisk Storage, Ready for Vanilla/Craftbukkit and virtually all plugins, Free On-Demand Backups, 24/7 Support, Multicraft Control Panel, Instant Setup."

For comparison, Multiplay with 12 players and 1024 MB RAM costs 13.55£/month (121 DKK).

---

I think I do experience more lag on Perfection than Multiplay, horses often seem very laggy and water also seems laggy, Yqt reports that redstone in general is also more laggy. I think their CPU or whatever else might be responsible may be worse than Multiplay's, which could explain some of the cost difference. But it is true that it has much more memory, and more slots, for the same amount of money, and the restarts no longer happen. For these reasons, I think I will prefer Perfection Servers.

You have 23 days from now to vote, and you can change votes until the poll closes.

599
Ok, the new official cropping plan is this. The area with Mystic Marsh is a bit big and I'd prefer if it were smaller but I guess it'll work.

The deadline for complaints is 22 hours from now.

And yes I moved some posts and merged some topics.

600
Yqt, could you tell me where you want Mystic Marsh moved then?

"There is a limit of three strongholds per world. All strongholds are located at random positions in a radius between 640 and 1152 blocks from the world's original spawn point, at 0/0 (but may extend further in or out of that area). The three strongholds are spawned at roughly equal angles from the center point of the world (that is, each stronghold is in the region of 120 degrees from the others, measured from the origin). The game will not generate a stronghold partially above-ground: any portion above the ground layer will be replaced with air blocks, leaving a cutaway."
http://minecraft.gamepedia.com/Stronghold

Blotz, chunky borders aren't the reason why we change the seed, they just mean that there is simply no reason to keep the old one and I can't verify that people actually deleted the old seed so don't ask me if everyone did it.
