This is not a market, but we can maybe make a labor plan.

Well the storage is for resources. Requesting labor assistance would go elsewhere. :b

Ok here's a forum thread for Spawntown's Collective Storage. You (UBSR members) can request resources for projects here and stuff...

Supported Projects:
20130724 - coolman (Azecliffs Welcome Center): 64 black wool, 64 red wool, 64 birch planks, 64 glass blocks, 5 birch slabs, 2 oak planks.

Some of them probably wandered from Azecliffs and a few probably come from the chunk with the tiny jungle.

Blacraft General / Re: Problem Solving Requests
« on: 2013 07 23, 19:09:13 »
The chunk probably isn't corrupted if you mean the one on the image, it just got deleted by accident and regenerated I think, and ideally we should put an old one back from a backup.

But I think the reason it crashes when going north is probably a corrupted chunk further north yes.

Blacraft General / Re: Problem Solving Requests
« on: 2013 07 23, 14:01:06 »
A chunk has apparently been deleted here, and a new one generated, so it doesn't fit into the landscape. Its outer blocks intersect the rail line between Ampluterra Outpost and ****atar (which I was going to change to go through Azecliffs).

There's water in the chunk, plus its elevation doesn't fit the surroundings, so it should be easy to spot. It seems like a tiny jungle biome has formed there.

Edit: The server seems to crash when entering an area north of that chunk, around (-335 , -850).

It's not rolled back yet, currently it is refusing to do anything because "disc quota exceeded" despite me deleting 27 old backups (~11 GB). So I've contacted Multiplay support.

Edit, copy from Ubox forums: I think the problems are fixed. I rolled back to the backup from this morning (which I had expected was taken after the problems you saw, but from what I see, the chunk in smj's farm isn't there, so I guess it works).

I haven't checked the Nether yet.

If you see any errors like that, it would be useful if you include the coords of it in the future (or take a screenshot with F3 info on). Then I can find it much faster.

The OnTime stats seem to have reset. I'll try to fix them.

« on: 2013 07 22, 07:23:46 »
How do you know that at least one plugin broke?

Copy of my post on the other forum:

I rolled back the entire world.

I suspect it is related to the limits on hard drive space which the server is allowed to use, but that's just a guess. Yesterday it couldn't start the server and said "disc quota exceeded", then I deleted a backup and started the server. I now deleted 26 old backups.

Anyway venturing into the nether etc. is a very bad idea if you see a glitch like this. You should simply not go on the server, you will obviously only make problems worse, but that is too late now.

is it like experience where you only get them if you kill mobs manually?
Yes, also who are you? It's a bit confusing when people use usernames which don't relate to their Minecraft users. :b

Haven't seen that happening vh, but read on the wiki that foals could glitch into blocks horizontally and die. I guess the safest place to keep horses in that case would be a leaf/glass buildign etc. where they don't suffocate in the blocks (if they don't do that in transparent blocks).

Vh made a device for measuring horse speed with redstone stuff, but by riding different horses you can also roughly estimate how fast they are by comparing how they ride.

it's ironic because UBSR had to update weekly during months of inactiveness, and, now that there are many more players on, the update is less frequent
The nice thing about the Google doc is you don't have to update it if you're inactive. If you're inactive, you don't change your resources, so the values continue to be correct. You could just update it like me - update every time you put something in/out your collective storage. I didn't have to update my own values for multiple months. I just had to update the spreadsheet by copying values weekly.

Also the reason I let it be less frequent is to take into account if such a situation will happen again, which seems likely. And I haven't really felt like implementing any changes to UBSR laws for a very long time for the same reasons as my own inactivity on the server.

I'd like to breed a donkey/mule with the best possible stats, but I don't see any reason why I should be better at that than you, so you're welcome to breed one if you want to. Yes, I should keep a reserve, I just hadn't expected this one to die. I thought the AI would at least be clever enough to not make it repeatedly walk into cactus until death, I mean, the other mobs don't do that.

« on: 2013 07 18, 07:55:38 »
Honestly, I know that what I did was wrong according to what you think, but it isn't officially in Blacraft rules.
The rules say this:
- Do not destroy anything built by other players on the server without their permission. It is considered griefing.
You broke the rule.

This rule is questionable:
- Do not exploit bugs or glitches in the game, or use any method to easily obtain large quantities of blocks or items (mob grinders and automatic farms are ok).

You didn't exploit a glitch, but you were well aware that you exploited the fact that a part of the world would be rolled back.

The rules additionally say:
- Ask Bla if you're unsure about the rules rather than risk breaking them.

Which you did not do. I think the rules definitely cover the issue (the first one clearly does), but I'll add a part about rolling back parts of the world.

I also feel that you should have been more questioning when I asked for a permaban.

I feel that duplicating items is giving myself an unlegit advantage compared to other players, which is Illegal on Blacraft.

Blacraft General / Re: Horses
« on: 2013 07 17, 20:44:09 »
Ok, this is the most stupid thing ever. I have extended the ring from the horse island to the bridge connecting Spawntown and Kaktolake (in face with tunnel to Blue Bay as well, but that isn't dug out for horses all the way). I was working on that tunnel and parked the donkey behind me. While working, it went all the way back the tunnel and up the ramp into the Kaktolake area. I looked through all of the tunnels, the surface near all ramps, and finally saw the donkey near Kaktolake. As I neared, I saw some leather and stuff drop into the air by the cacti, on a closer look, the items I had stored in the donkey as well. So I sort of ragequat. :P

I need to breed another mule, another donkey as well I guess, so I can get plenty of those, I just need someone to arrange the breeding with.

Smj, sounds like a good idea, was what I was considering already.

Alternatively it could be sorted by item ID's, but that isn't a very logical system.

The hard question is then what the categories should be. I was thinking of two major categories, items and blocks, then subcategories like on the Minecraft wiki, we could maybe copy the categories from there. Items such as ingots, gold nuggets, gems would be listed under the blocks they could be turned into though.

Updated the law so people now only have to keep the doc updated the first Saturday in a month.

Also I am reworking the document currently to add many more items, some help would be nice on which items to include and especially whether they should be listed by category, alphabetically etc.

Rail Route 5 remains broken near my end portal and I have been too lazy to fix it. :P Speaking of the end portal, I have not built a nether portal there because I have been waiting for the netherrail or nether horse roads. Get to work bla!
You're welcome to work on them, I generally am not very interested in the nether. I already have two projects to work on plus there has been a lot of problems on Blacraft recently and I am also trying to cope with depression, so I don't really like getting more duties than necessary, kol.

Ok to your standards, they definitely will not exist in the regions I manage.
wait are horse roads supposed to be level 40 in the nether or something

because they can probably already run along most if not all of the current nether-roads with little to no adjustment
Running on open roads in the nether isn't ideal with ghasts and all the other fire hazards etc. in the nether. If the roads aren't closed the ghasts will also gradually destroy the terrain next to them with fireballs. And I don't really get why you always seem so pessimistic with big projects. :P

I am trying to see which coords people would prefer horse roads to be at in the nether. 40 is just my proposal, but I am starting to like 100 more so it's more easy to transfer to the rail tunnels.

I said Coolman could do whatever he wanted with it and the region, I removed the flags and some signs with Spheron etc. on them. I don't think he's interested in destroying the building, it would seem sort of pointless, but meh, Deoxy would have done the same to us if he could. :P

What do people think should happen to Spheron Rilmu, now that Deoxy99 is permabanned? Is anyone interested in taking over the region?
What should happen to the hotel? I think we should preserve it, but remove the flag and let the regional manager edit it if it wants to, and rename everything Deoxy named.

Edit: Alfonzo99 has claimed the region between Spheron Rilmu, Desertopia, Welptopia, Mt. Olympus and Islandes de Yqt. The region is still unnamed and Alfonzo99 has decided to join UBSR.

He has also built a small building by the Yukitown municipality's east coast, which Ventus/Naru may want to see.

Coolman1220 has also joined the server and claimed Spheron Rilmu, which has been renamed to Azecliffs.

Blacraft General / Re: Horses
« on: 2013 07 13, 19:07:29 »
Smj, I think I already answered to the two problems you mentioned. I already suggested for the nether roads to be 4 blocks wide and I already recommended people to make staircases for horses to their rail stations.

Yqt, I think your plan looks fine, I just hope you'll make the roads underground if they're going to be completely straight, but that's just my own taste. :P I'm ok with connecting the wide road to Spawntown on your map, but we need Hellpotatoe to accept that as well. We will need to make the road there more wide and remove the cacti bordering the road (imo they're also a bit annoying when they're just next to the road :P).

I'm not sure if I like the idea of switching the netherrail for horse roads, not all people may have so easy access to horses, and maybe you would like not having to press a key to move, minecarts would be a nice option to have as well, and building rails to connect our nether stuff isn't that expensive after all.

Blacraft General / Re: Horses
« on: 2013 07 13, 16:40:57 »
I agree we should set up nether horse routes yes, and make the portal areas more horse-friendly.

Let us get started as fast as possible and standardize the tunnels. Here are my ideas.

Should they follow particular x/z coordinates? No, they can run freely.
Should they by default be at a certain height? Yes, the surface of the road should be y = 40.
(Consider this: and our rails are at y = 110 - I am not sure whether it would be better to put it near our rails at the top, this makes it pretty hard to get up and down without huge staircases though, if most portals aren't that high up, we could also put it at y = 100, then you could more easily get onto the rail routes on horse)
How wide should the roads be? 4 blocks.
How tall should the tunnels be? 4 blocks.
What material should the road be made of by default? Cobblestone.
What material should the tunnel be made of by default? Cobblestone.

huehuehuehuehue horses in rail tunnels? on one hand i suppose that's a nice way to avoid building another tunnel, on the other hand, if we wanted to save effort then why are rail tunnels 3x3 instead of 1x2.
It's not just to save effort, it's also so that the rail lines and horse roads can supplement each other, and 1x2 rail lines make(/made?) you suffocate when you get off the cart and bounce when meeting other players plus they are really ugly too.

I don't really know what altitude to put horse roads at in the overworld. y = 45 and y = 55 seem like possible options, 55 will cause a lot of problem with water I think, while 45 seems a bit far from the surface. If we just make them more free than the rails, I guess y = 55 will be ok - they can always submerge below sea or rail line or emerge above ground if needed. Do people agree with this? How about making them 4 blocks wide and tall in overworld too?

Blacraft General / Login Time Plugins
« on: 2013 07 13, 14:20:06 »
I'm looking for a nice login time plugin. Its most important task is to make you see how long has passed since the last time a player was online.

Secondary tasks are making it possible to see more info such as total time online, time online over the last period of time etc.

The plugin should be as lightweight as possible.

I am also thinking of the idea of making it automatically issue a command which rewards players for being online for an amount of time. Such as giving players some xp every 60 minutes they have been online. Giving items doesn't seem like a good idea imo, but xp seems reasonable. If it were items, I think consumables would be best, like potions, and the time intervals should be much bigger.
It would be better to reward players for building/killing/digging etc. instead of just being online though, that would need a stats tracking plugin.

This plugin looked interesting, last updated 3 days ago, feedback/other ideas are welcome:
It also has this cool option, it could be fun to have a place where we coul go to see all players' online time in the world (maybe somewhere else than Spawntown to give more travelling incentive):

Another option which doesn't look very finished:

Blacraft General / Re: Idea: Inactive Regions

Blacraft now has rules on inactivity. I decided to give people a 1 year grace period, and they can simply contact the admins if they want to make a deal about not losing their developed areas.

We should find a plugin which lets you see when people were last online.

Blacraft General / Horses
« on: 2013 07 13, 13:41:05 »
Kolkolkol, finally found horses. In a ravine in some far away plains.
One of them has 10 hearts, is very fast but doesn't jump very high. The other one has 12 hearts, is a bit slower, but seems able to jump maybe 3-4 meters up.

I lead them back to Epicland, near Border Hill, the unused building, and set up a small stable, which is meant to be mostly temporary. I have thought out a plan for a stable hub and horse infrastructure at Spawntown, since the town isn't very easy to navigate with horses. The plan is here:

The green island is a large artificial island for keeping horses, surrounded by a fence. It will have spots for horse storage, possibly tower/underground areas to keep additional horses if the island itself is too small.
A bridge might connect the horse island to the peninsula with the spleef arena, since that is a relatively open part of Spawntown for horses.

The orange ring is a tunnel/elevated road which is 3-5 blocks wide which is made for horses.

The red-white circles are rail stations. The orange ring for horses is made to intersect the stations so that the horses can move onto the already built minecart tunnels.

The pink lines are rail lines, the light pink one a future planned rail route.

The red-gray squares are points where the horse road connects to the world's surface. I tried to find the most open spaces in/around Spawntown and areas with roads which I consider upgrading to be 3-5 blocks wide.

The yellow lines are alternative, additional horse roads. I think it would be reasonable to build a horse road west beyond Yukitown, because the terrain/road there isn't very good for horses. Same goes for the area south of Spawntown, where it is hard to expand the road without destroying a lot of nature as well.

The big yellow R symbolizes my idea to build a horse racing track, probably in Earthquake Forest, possibly elsewhere, Idk yet.

You can use this topic to anything you want which is horse-related, but you're very welcome to give feedback to the plans. :P

But if we want underground horse tunnels, we should consider something like a standard y-height for them. I plan to deviate a lot from such a standard though and as said maybe even have elevated parts.

People are also encouraged to make their rail stations horse-friendly (connecting the stations to a staircase to the surface which horses can use).

I realized the main reason I don't play Blacraft atm is that I spent some xp naming a diamond pick I think or I have some diamond tools that I'm not sure what to do with, and the thought of getting on and having to put them into the tool library and swap to iron tools or something like that is just making me tired. It is very absurd yes but.............sigh.

But yes I need to play something, Blacraft would be very nice. For the past several days I've spent all my spare time going back and forth between computer and thinking of what to play and lying down and thinking, it is really making me........ksfdllthfg frustratedgfkgj lksfga I need something to play or just waste my time on so I can avoid all those stupid thoughts all the time extremely much.

and anyways can you explain what a buffer is
The buffer chest would be an intermediate between public and collective chests. You don't have to graph it (like public), but it's locked (like collective).

Blacraft General / Re: Collective Storages
« on: 2013 06 23, 18:51:06 »
I thought of the buffer as something like just one single double chest near the entrance to the collective or such, not something you needed an entire storage for, but something a sign would clarify that could be easily inspected along with the collective chests, for maximum inspection comfort service. Umm.

Yes it'd be hard for Blacraft to be active if nobody was playing it. :P I don't play because I don't really know what to do in there and a lot of reasons I'm not really sure about atm. This is a confusing time period.

In the current state of Blacraft, UBSR private economy would only make things easier, but if we actually began to actively use the server again it would probably ruin a lot of things. I would greatly prefer if we could find some way to keep collective storages and graph the resources and get more people to join in this, it is simply extremely useful for if we ever wanted to build something really, really big or simply wanted to help each other.

Blacraft General / Re: Idea: Inactive Regions

Ok, complete anarchy.

I like the grace period idea. If people aren't active for 12 entire months, it seems fair for someone else to take over. But we need a plugin to measure the logins.
Quontex and Deoxy I can say with 99.9% confidence will never accept to give up one square meter of land.

Plaidania seems like a good option for the anarchy municipality. I think I like a municipality to be anarchy more than an entire region to begin with at least. People will interact more in the smaller space.
